Inspired by 16th Century Lotto Carpets, named after Italian Renaissance painter Lorenzo Lotto's captivating paintings, Florence pays homage to the original carpets showcased in the Bargello Museum in Florence.
Intricately hand-knotted in Afghanistan in a 45/45 Persian knot quality, using fine, long-fibre Ghazni wool, natural vegetable and mineral dyes, and a variety of regional weaving techniques, lending a unique character to Afghan made rugs.
The colour palette of the Florence rug has been thoughtfully curated to reflect the timeless charm of the Renaissance period. Rich, earthy tones and deep, lustrous hues combine to evoke a sense of opulence and sophistication, making it a perfect addition to any interior space.
Created in collaboration with Turquoise Mountain, which was founded in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III in order to protect and revive Afghanistan’s historic craft, artisan traditions and skills which date back thousands of years.
