Forgotten Dreams
Isabel Marina
In Forgotten Dreams, Isabel Marina captures the elusive nature of dreams as they begin to fade from memory. Pale blues, soft greys and muted neutrals overlap in fragmented passages, with traces of earlier marks remaining visible beneath the surface.
The hand-knotted construction brings depth and tactile variation to the composition, allowing forms to emerge and dissolve across its richly layered surface. Quiet and atmospheric, Forgotten Dreams evokes the familiar feeling of trying to hold onto something already beginning to disappear.

Artist Collaboration
Isabel Marina
Isabel Marina is an artist and Creative Director at Alfonso Marina, the high-end furniture company founded by her father. Surrounded by art, design and interiors from childhood, she developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship, traditional techniques and the relationship between furniture, decoration and artistic expression.
She studied Industrial Design, with a thesis focused on the rescue of traditional styles and techniques for the design and development of contemporary furniture. In 1998, she began her career at Alfonso Marina, working closely with her father in the design department. In 2009, she took charge of New Product Development and has since led the design direction of the brand’s collections.
Isabel began painting in 2014, drawing on her knowledge of techniques, materials and styles developed through books, formal study and her experience within the Alfonso Marina factory. Her work is contemporary and abstract, often exploring acrylic paint, texture, oil, gold and silver leaf, patinas and charcoal.
Her paintings were first exhibited at High Point, North Carolina, as part of the presentation of new Alfonso Marina collections, where they received a strong response and were soon sold internationally. In Mexico, her work is exhibited and available through the Alfonso Marina showroom in Bosques de las Lomas.
